Curlew Conservation Evening — Multi-Camera Event Film
Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust commissioned me to film a Curlew Conservation Evening at Hafan yr Afon, Newtown, bringing together conservationists, farmers, volunteers and local people to discuss the future of one of Wales’ most threatened birds.
I provided the complete filming and production setup for the event, using a multi-camera workflow to capture the presentations, audience and panel discussion while keeping the filming unobtrusive for those attending.
The evening included a presentation on curlew conservation work in the area, contributions from farmers and volunteers, and an extended audience Q&A. Multiple cameras and individually recorded microphones allowed the finished film to move naturally between speakers, audience reactions and wider views of the event.
As well as recording the evening, I handled the full post-production process, bringing together the different camera and audio sources into a polished long-form film that preserved the substance of the discussion while making it engaging to watch.
The project is a good example of producing a professional record of a live event where clear audio, reliable coverage and capturing unscripted discussion are just as important as the visuals.
