Powys Green Guide — Promotional Film
I produced a promotional film for the Powys Green Guide, an online resource created by Powys Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE) to connect people with environmental organisations, local businesses, events and practical ideas for more sustainable living across Powys.
Rather than explaining the website purely through narration, the film was built around the people and organisations it was designed to support. I filmed interviews with individuals, community groups, environmental organisations and local businesses, exploring how the Green Guide could help people discover activity in their area, share knowledge and make practical changes.
Contributors included representatives from organisations and projects including Arts Connection, the Hanging Gardens Project, Eden Project Communities, Llanidloes Community Centre and Pili Pala Farm, alongside people involved in climate and community initiatives across Powys. The film was introduced by Jackie Charlton, Powys County Council’s Cabinet Member for a Greener Powys.
The production combined interviews with location footage, website screen recordings and bespoke animation, including graphics designed to demonstrate how activity across the county could be brought together through a single online resource.
A key part of the edit was making a potentially complex environmental directory feel straightforward and useful. The finished film focused on practical benefits: helping individuals find achievable ways to reduce their impact, giving community organisations greater visibility and opportunities to collaborate, and allowing environmentally responsible businesses to reach people actively looking for greener alternatives.
The film concluded with a clear invitation for organisations, businesses and individuals to explore and contribute to the Green Guide, creating a concise promotional piece that could introduce both the website and the wider network of environmental activity taking place across Powys.
