WaterAid@Home 2021 & 2022
WaterAid@Home was an annual live online broadcast for WaterAid supporters, looking back at the charity’s work and achievements while sharing its priorities for the year ahead.
I worked on the broadcasts in both 2021 and 2022, with responsibilities centred on vMix technical direction and vision mixing as part of the Wakeless Media production team. The hour-long programmes were broadcast live from WaterAid’s London offices using a multicamera setup, bringing together presenters, interviews, panel discussions and contributions from WaterAid teams around the world.
For each production, I prepared and operated the vMix live-production system, switching between camera feeds and integrating pre-recorded films, remote contributions, stills and graphics into the live programme.
The broadcasts also incorporated audience participation through live polls and submitted questions. This required close coordination between the production, camera, presentation and interactive-content teams, with programme elements managed responsively as each broadcast unfolded.
Working on consecutive editions provided an opportunity to develop a reliable workflow for a content-rich live programme, while retaining the pace and visual structure of a broadcast rather than a conventional online event.
