Animal Aid — Future of Science Student Conference
Animal Aid’s Future of Science Student Conference brings together A-level science students, teachers and researchers to explore advances in human-relevant science and alternatives to animal testing.
I have provided livestream and video production for the conference across multiple years, developing the technical setup as the event has grown. The morning programme of presentations and panel discussions is produced live in vMix and streamed to YouTube, combining multiple cameras, presentation slides, live audio, graphics and audience contributions into a finished broadcast.
The production has also included integrating remote speakers, managing presentation feeds, recording isolated camera and audio sources, and creating a reliable workflow within a busy conference environment.
Alongside the livestream, we capture material from the wider event, including workshops, student and teacher feedback, photography and promotional footage. This gives Animal Aid content that can be used beyond the live broadcast for social media, future conference promotion and standalone videos.
A major advantage of producing the talks live is that much of the editorial work is already completed during the event. Rather than simply recording several cameras for a lengthy post-production process, the programme is switched, mixed and branded in real time while the original sources are retained for any later refinements.
