St Hugh’s College — Multicamera Lecture Livestream
I provided the livestream production for St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford, for the annual lecture Feminism Confronts AI: The Gender Relations of Digitalisation, delivered by Professor Judy Wajcman of the London School of Economics and The Alan Turing Institute.
The event took place in Maplethorpe Hall at St Hugh’s College, with an in-person audience alongside viewers watching online. I designed and operated a multicamera live production, combining close-up and wide shots of the speakers with a direct feed of the presentation slides.
The production was built around vMix and an ATEM Mini Pro ISO, allowing the programme to move between cameras, presentation content and picture-in-picture layouts during the lecture. A long-lens camera at the rear of the hall provided tight speaker shots, alongside a wider stage camera and an additional audience view.
Audio was integrated with the college’s in-house sound system, with independent recording and backup microphones providing redundancy. Individual camera feeds and isolated audio were also recorded alongside the live programme, creating a complete set of high-quality source material after the event.
The livestream was distributed through St Hugh’s College’s online channels, allowing the lecture to reach an audience beyond those able to attend in Oxford.
