National Trust — Long-Term Wildlife Livestream
I am currently delivering a long-term wildlife livestream project for the National Trust, developing and operating a system designed to broadcast wildlife continuously from a remote location over an extended period.
Unlike a conventional live production lasting a few hours or days, the project requires the livestream infrastructure to remain reliable for months at a time. This involves combining remote cameras, connectivity, streaming systems and ongoing monitoring into a workflow that can continue operating with minimal intervention on site.
My role covers both the technical design and ongoing operation of the livestream, from planning and installing the system through to remote monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining the stream once it is live.
The project is now approximately halfway through its planned year-long run and has provided an opportunity to develop a genuinely long-duration wildlife broadcasting workflow — combining the requirements of natural history filming with the reliability and remote management needed for a permanent live production.
