Habitats & Biodiversity Symposium 2024 — Event AV & Hybrid Production
The Habitats & Biodiversity Symposium 2024 brought together speakers and attendees for a day of presentations and discussion around wildlife, habitat management and biodiversity.
I provided the technical and AV production for the event, managing the presentation system, venue projection and sound throughout the day. Presentations were supplied by multiple speakers and loaded onto a central laptop, allowing the programme to move smoothly between sessions without each presenter needing to connect their own equipment.
The afternoon also included a remote speaker joining via Zoom. I integrated the remote presentation into the venue’s projection and audio system and provided a wireless microphone so questions from the audience could be heard by the speaker, creating a two-way conversation between the room and the remote contributor.
Alongside the presentations, I managed microphones, playback and background audio, and dealt with the practical compatibility issues that come with working with an existing venue system, including adapting between VGA, HDMI and different audio connections.
The project provided a single technical point of responsibility for the symposium, allowing organisers and speakers to concentrate on the content while the presentations, sound and hybrid elements were managed throughout the event.
